Round table at bfi Steiermark „Access to information technologies for the blind and visually impaired“
On the 14th of February 2011, a round table with representatives from organisations and institutions, working for and with blind and visually impaired persons was taking place at bfi Steiermark. Existing technologies, like screenreaders, braille displays and the use of smartphones were intensively discussed, as well as an outlook for further developments and trends was given. The meeting was a success for all participants and laid the foundation for a fruitful cooperation in future.
3rdPartner Meeting in Ankara
On the 2nd and 3rd February the third translational Dicomp Transfer Project meeting took place in Ankara, Turkey. Partners from Austria, Poland, Bulgaria, Spain, Greece and the U.K. were welcomed by their Turkish colleagues. Katerina, Nikos and George, from the School for the Blind of Northern Greece, who have taken over the Greek partnership from e-ISOTIS, were given a special welcome. All the partners considered the meeting to be a great success from a technical stand point and were able to enjoy the transnational cultural exchange and Turkish hospitality.
EU-project circle in Vienna, Austria (8th June 2010)
An EU-project circle took place in Vienna where companies from Austria could speak about their projects and problems with them.
Mayoress Reception, Gijon, Spain (5th May 2010)
The partners presented the project “Dicomp Transfer” on the 5th of May 2010 in a Reception in the Town Hall attended by the Mayoress Doña Paz Fernandez Felgueroso. The official Reception was followed by a Press Conference in which the project was explained and the Mayoress encouraged dissemination of the project product - the free screenreader “Thunder”. The reception was reported in the daily press: The Nueva España and El Comercio, with photograhs of the partners with the Mayoress, and on the regional news in the Television del Principado de Asturias.
Round Table, Gijon, Spain (6th May 2010)
A round table was organised on the 6th of May 2010 with stakeholders. It was attended by representatives from the ONCE (Organización Nacional de Ciegos Españoles / Spanish Blind Foundation), local government, associations related to illnesses which cause blindness and senior citizen associations. There was a open discussion and the round table was a real success. E.N.T.E.R. conference in Graz, Austria (12th March 2010)
The E.N.T.E.R. conference took place in Graz. A lot of interested organizations from all over Europe attended the conference to get to know other European projects and learn from the best. http://www.enter-network.eu/
1st partner meeting in Graz, Austria (19th - 20th November 2009)
The two meeting days were dedicated to getting to know each other – learning about the project partner organizations and to establish a common sense about the project and it´s main outcomes A) Learn about the basic information about technical issues (Thunder! and Webbie) & synthesizer B) Organizational matters regarding the individual workpackages (responsibilities and deadlines) It was outlined at the beginning of the meeting that the meeting agenda might change a bit due to the fact that within the individual workpackages numerous topics are addressed. We considered the discussion on these as essential to form a common understanding about the project and it´s outcomes.
